Just when you thought you’d explored every inch, nook, cranny and attraction in the capital, here are six more you might like to try.

As North West London estate agents, we pride ourselves on knowing the secret venues, undiscovered enclaves and overlooked attractions in our wonderful city. If you’re in North West London on property viewings or are researching somewhere new to live, make time for the below:-

Little Venice

Maida Vale’s offshoot is one of the prettiest yet lesser known neighbourhoods in London. In fact, it’s so charming that property for sale in Little Venice changes hands at a frighteningly quick pace but it’s all very ‘under the radar’. Take a walk along the canal looking out for colourful barges before settling into one of the gastropubs along the waterway or catching a performance at The Canal Cafe Theatre - a 60-seat fringe venue in the heart of Little Venice.

Kenwood House

Many people living in a Hampstead property extoll the virtues of the Heath but not as many sing the praises of Kenwood House. This magnificent property managed by English Heritage sits on the edge of Hampstead Heath and is home to some to the world’s most famous masterpieces. There’s a Rembrandt self portrait and works by Vermeer, Van Dyck, Hals, Gainsborough and Turner - proving you don’t have to trundle into the West End for world-class art. Don’t forget to explore the house’s landscaped gardens and cafe.

Hampstead Pergola and Hill Gardens

Again, a great attraction often overlooked in favour of the wide expanse of Hampstead Heath. The beautiful Grade II listed pergola and man-made elevated hill overlooks West Heath, and was the creation of William H Lever, later Lord Leverhulme, together with the celebrated landscape architect, Thomas Mawson.

England's Lane

This street in Belsize Park is where urban desires meet coffee culture. Cafés, restaurants and boutiques rub shoulders with an independent butcher, a cult bookshop and many independent design retailers. It’s the perfect antidote to more touristy London thoroughfares.

Hampstead Downstairs

This fringe theatre is actually located in Swiss Cottage on Eton Avenue, despite its name. As part of Hampstead Theatre this intimate 80-seater studio plays host to emerging, mid-career and established talent, with tickets on sale for a fraction of the cost of those in the West End.

Oslo Court

If you live in a St John’s Wood property, you’ve probably passed by Oslo Court many times and never realised it housed a lauded but very unique restaurant. Set at the bottom of a block of 1930s flats on Charlbert Street, the establishment has been serving the local community and A-list celebs for over 35 years. In that time, the decor and the menu has hardly changed - traditions that have earned it loyal patrons including David Cameron and Bernie Ecclestone.
